Popup Store Opening at Hankyu Umeda Main Store (Umeada, Osaka)
The pop-up store was successfully opened at Hankyu Department Store in Umeda, Osaka, with Japan’s biggest kidswear floor sales (as of the year 2020).
The project was undertaken during the outbreak of the global pandemic. Due to the worldwide strict travel restrictions, all business trips from the Italian headquarters were canceled and the project was carried out online basis throughout the process.
We connected online the design office in Italy with Japanese contractors and factories in Osaka and communicated via video and phone to avoid any misunderstandings during the production of equipment, fixtures, and furniture.
For the transportation of the goods and the complex procedures for import customs clearance, we teamed up with the Italian forwarder in Tokyo and for the domestic logistic services, we worked with a Japanese apparel-specialized logistic firm.
Thanks to big support from the Hankyu department store and local partners, we achieved our initial project goals on time and met the target sales set by the department store.
We also collaborated with a Japanese PR & advertising agency and worked alongside Japan's most renowned baby influencer, @babychanco, which resulted in a successful marketing campaign.
