Case 2
Popup store opening at Iwataya Main Store (Fukuoka)
We successfully managed our first project, thanks to the big support of the Iwataya Main Store in Tenjin, Fukuoka, which is today operated under Mitsukoshi/Isetan Group and is one of the most prestigious department stores with a 260-year history.
To meet Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) on apparel, we closely communicated with the R&D institute for testing and inspecting textiles located in Hong Kong. To serve the department store’s loyal and prestige clientele, it is strictly required for the foreign and domestic brands to follow the many government and department store rules and regulations, such as regulations for formaldehyde in apparel and home textiles and safety regulations for childrenswear.
We also worked with a Japanese contractor and a staffing agency in Fukuoka to set up the store. After the project, we sent the final analysis report to the client firm that covered overall department store sales, floor sales (current and previous year data) we got from the department store merchandiser, and in-store sales (avg basket, avg price of the articles, avg nb of articles per basket) and inventory data by the product category or by the age category, conversion rate, with the effect of our marketing campaign, traffic and customer analysis (new or exsting) based on the qualitative and quantitative information obtained from store manager and fashion experts.
